Laura Boehme, PhD
OLS 57900
The aim of this course is to expose the graduate student to world-class leadership in the form of emerging and applicable strategies, principles, theories, and approaches. World-class leadership is the catalyst that provides effective integration of professional knowledge, behavioral attributes and personal qualities creating an organizational environment allowing its members to excel in the global marketplace.
As effective leadership becomes increasingly vital to organizational success, future leaders must be adept at developing and implementing their leadership style and approaches through strategic thinking and influential actions. Leaders need to be actively leading their teams to address key organizational decisions. World-class leadership will serve as our focus for research, activities, and readings as we explore this phenomenon of leadership. By the end of the course, students will have evolved their leadership practice by becoming more self-aware and applying world-class leadership strategies that promote organizational and human-related goals.
