Exhibit 1: Time Management Matrix

Key Takeaway 1: Items requiring strategic thinking typically fall in Quadrant 2 of the Time Management Matrix (see Exhibit 1).  Most people get caught up in Quadrant 1.  It is important to make the time to address Quadrant 2 (Anderson, 2023).

Key Takeaway 2: Questions are the language of strategy allowing you to strategically relate to others and their motivators, make quick decisions with limited information, and strategically network (Anderson, 2023).

Exhibit 2: Model of Inclusive Leadership

Key Takeaway 3: Inclusive Leadership helps address the challenges of a more diverse workforce (see Exhibit 2).  For organizations to remain competitive in the future, they must find ways to integrate and support women and people of color in the workplace (Northouse, 2019).

Analysis: While Inclusive Leadership may be one of the newer leadership theories, it is a leadership style that I've been aware of and have incorporated since entering the workforce.  Born in 1980, I am part of the Millenial cohort who was raised to be more aware of diversity and inclusivity (Springer, 2023).  Additionally, I am more sensitive to the need as a first generation immigrant and person of color.  In the world of innovation, diversity in thought grounded in a diversity of backgrounds is absolutely necessary to invent the future.  Where I struggle with respect to this week's readings is in strategic thinking.  In fact, it was a primary learning goal I set for myself coming out of Week 1.  I have since improved in creating time for strategic thinking and planning but need to improve in strategic networking and strategic questions.

Application:  As indicated in the analysis, I need to continue creating time for myself to think strategically.  I also need to improve my strategic network.  As an introvert and one who is still working through overcoming my self-limiting beliefs, it is difficult for me to network with others who I deem "higher up in the food chain".  While I'm good at asking questions to make decisions based on limited information, I need to improve the questions so my networking is effective and can leave a lasting impression.
